We are already a couple of weeks into 2023, and with that comes the start the first financial quarter of the new year! Everyone probably already knows that we have tax season right on the horizon, but did you know this entire year is full of dates and deadlines that you need to know?

Here’s a couple of the standout dates for each quarter for the year 2023. First Quarter

January 31st – The end of January will be the deadline for employers to mail W-2 Forms to their employees.
March 15th – This is the filing deadline for S-corporations and partnerships to file their business returns from 2022.

Second Quarter

April 1st – If you reached the age of 72 in 2022, you have until April 1, 2023 to take your 2022 required minimum distribution.
April 18th – Today will be donned as “Tax Day” for almost everyone. This is the filing deadline to submit 2022 tax returns or for an extension to file. To learn more about how you can prepare for April 18th, contact North Georgia Tax Solutions today.

Q1 2023 estimated tax payment due on the 18th If you’re self-employed or have other income without any tax withholding, and you make quarterly estimated tax payments, this is the due date for your first quarterly payment for the 2023 fiscal year.

June 15th – Q2 2023 estimated tax payment due. If you’re self-employed or have other income without any tax withholding, and you make quarterly estimated tax payments, this is the due date for your second quarterly payment for the 2023 fiscal year.

Third Quarter

September 15th – If you filed for an extension for a Partnership or S-Corporation return, today is the deadline to file for that extension.

Q3 2023 estimated tax payment due. If you’re self-employed or have other income without any tax withholding, and you make quarterly estimated tax payments, this is the due date for your second quarterly payment for the 2023 fiscal year.

Fourth Quarter

October 16th – If you filed for an extension on your individual return or your C-Corporation return, today is the day your filing is due.
December 31st – Required minimum distributions must be taken for individuals aged 73, or older, by the end of this year.
